NOTE: This blog post is meant for catching up. After this they will probably be about life, random facts, rants, funny videos, etc.
Where to begin. It's been over a year since my last post (not that you can't see that yourself), and "a lot has happened since" is definitely an understatement. If I had to describe my past year I would probably say it was an eye-opening, interesting, and eventful year. I will describe my past year in sections to try to make it less jumbled.
Friends:
I had so much fun my first year at MIT and I have an awesome group of friends. We call ourselves "the family" of "the fam". We all truly became very close as we helped each other get through the good and bad times in life. We went out to dinners for people's birthdays and just all became like real siblings. I love them all so very much. Aside from them I made a great group of caring friends at church also, two of which became really close friends of mine. They are the un-separable twins: Creed and Jaes. Jaes was my home teacher so by default we had to become friends but he went above and beyond any expectation of a home teacher or friend. **Side note, for those who aren't mormon, a home teacher is someone that is assigned to visit you at least once a month and someone who can help you with anything you need both temporal and spiritual** He never gave up on my stubborn self and for that I thank him. And Creed is just... well... it's Creed. Anyone who knows him knows that he is the most genuine caring person ever! And he's the coolest kid on the block, so if you don't know him already you need to. I loved our talks about every topic under the sun ranging from whose state was the best, to Italian, to music, to cars, to church, and beyond. So easy to get along with. Aside from school and church I joined a sorority: Sigma Kappa. My sisters in the sorority are wonderful and helpful. I especially love my big, Katie! She is the best Big anyone could ask for. When I was having life issues she came over to my dorm in the middle of the week, brought me my favorite type of chocolate (white chocolate with coconut), and we talked and watched a movie together. It was awesome! I also need to give Casey and Cameron credit for helping me out when my spirits were low.

School:
I took the regular freshman GIRs that everyone takes. The one class I really liked was the class that unfortunately I dropped which was Intro to Aerospace Engineering. It was awesome! Just get me started on planes, NASA, and space and I get into the nerd zone. I love everything about space and flying and planets. I also have a huge passion for designing stuff in CAD programs which I mess around with from time to time. Well, that's not school related but still.
Experiences:
I learned a lot from different life events that happened to me this past year which I won't go into detail about, but most importantly learned that the only way to truly be happy is to follow Christ's commandments and serve others. It is especially helpful to one's mood to get lost in service and be selfless. And being selfless doesn't necessarily mean not thinking of yourself at all but as the world suggests when you break it down, it means thinking of yourself less and thinking more about others and what their needs are.
Family:
I FREAKING LOVE MY FAMILY!!! In the end the only people who will be there for you is family, whether it's the one you have now, or the one that you will get to have with your future spouse, or both. We all got to go to Disney World again this year. I say again because it was either my 6th or 7th time going, I've lost count. I know the parks, rides, and shows so well. Especially the Fantasmic show in the MGM park, or what is now called Hollywood Studios. I know that show so well that I can actually hum every note and sing every word to the 30 minute show. If you interested in watching it's here. I just absolutely love spending time with my family. Especially the little ones, they are bundles of awesomeness and joy. I actually am in the process of making my little brother a highlight reel for his soccer season. And by highlight reel I mean a compilation of him running around and kicking the ball twice the whole season. Watching the 3 year olds play is the funnest thing in the world! They are so adorable because they have no clue what is going on. I might post the video on here, but if I don't it will definitely be on Facebook.
Future:
I will be taking a year off from MIT for those who have wondered why I'm not back yet, but don't worry. I'll be back.
Conclusion:
This last year was great, and I am ready to keep going in life! The main reason for me to keep up this blog is for those who would like to know what's going on in my life and the things I have to say, but have very busy lives which I totally understand (yes, I am looking at you MIT kids). I think my next blog will be a rant about driving because apparently people don't know how to drive. We'll see.
